The 16th community of Divya Jyoti Province, St. Chantal’s Convent was established on 11th June 2019 at Gomoh, Dhanbad in Jharkhand. Rev. Fr. George Fernandes, the provincial of Jesuit fathers of Jamshedpur Province has expressed his desire through Rev. Fr. James Tharaniyil to have our presence at Gomoh in Jamshedpur diocese in order to render our service in the existing parish along with our service both in English and Hindi mediums of De Nobili schools. After a few meetings, discussions, and visiting the place, both the teams gave a final word of agreement in writing. Thus the blessing and inauguration of the convent took place on 11th June 2019.

Our convent is the old primary building of De Nobili School which was renovated and handed over to us. It is situated on the same campus as the new De Nobili School. This is a very quiet, peaceful, and calm atmosphere. The Gomoh railway station is 1.7 km away from the residence and the main market is within 1 km.
The pioneers of the convent are Sr. Cicy Kaithakkattuparambil Superior cum Vice Principal of De Nobili English School. Sr. Kripa Kandulna is the first councilor cum headmistress of DBH Hindi Med. School. And the third member is Sr. Lilly Rose Kullu Finance Officer and in charge of St. Chantal’s play School which we began on 23rd July 2019. With the co-operation and support of our Rev. Fathers, we do our ministry in collaboration and mutual understanding.
